If we're all inside around the fire sipping cocoa, it's going to be time to clean very soon!

I couldn't believe the first time I had All-Star Chem-Dry clean my new living room carpet for me because I knew it was only a couple years old and I vacuumed regularly.

But my goodness! The black gunk that was coming up out of the carpet!

You can literally see what's coming out, if you really want to know. I was puzzled, where had that black stuff come from? Then I realized -- it's the fireplace soot settling out of the air!

We have since installed a wood stove, but I doubt that fixed the source much, although it is more efficient and warms the room better. Thankfully I can keep the carpets clean and therefore the air is cleaner in my home also.
