Why should I clean my carpets?
They don't even look that dirty!
Well, that's a good question. But it's what you can't see, that will make you have to replace the carpets sooner than needed -- and possibly make you sick in the meantime.
Here's what I found in a recent carpet industry magazine article: Little-used rooms, especially in damper areas like basements, laundry rooms, garage type areas -- can allow bacteria and viruses to grow on the dust molecules that we know are floating in the air, and landing on the carpet.
What is dust? It's mostly skin cells, and the favorite food of many tiny critters that we prefer not to think about.
Keeping even unused rooms vacuumed isn't enough. Get them cleaned at least once a year, and your higher traffic areas more often. And DO vacuum, the more the better. But avoid putting lots of water into the carpet and padding, which feeds the little critters munching on the dust balls.
Allergic to dust mites? Ask for our Dust Mite Anti-allergen treatment, which changes the molecular composition of the dust mite's leavings, keeping them from causing an allergic reaction.
Clever, huh? Our chemists are always working to solve problems and keep you healthier.
